Gaining insights from industry professionals and hearing North Carolinians' perspectives on what would make our government work better is what District Work Period is all about. Pro-Life Victory

This week President Trump’s Protect Life Rule took effect, which prohibits organizations that receive Title X funding for family planning services from also providing onsite abortions or abortion referrals. Subsequently, Planned Parenthood withdrew from the Title X Program.

I applaud our pro-life president for keeping his promises to protect all life and to ensure that taxpayers do not subsidize abortion providers like Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood’s decision to opt out of the Title X Program is a win for American taxpayers and true healthcare providers that do not call the taking innocent human life a “family planning service.”

My bill, the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, would take the next step by codifying this rule so that Congressional intent of the Title X Program, as restored by President Trump, cannot again be undermined. Finally, you won’t hear this in the mainstream media, but women already have many options besides Planned Parenthood for family planning services. There are thousands of federally qualified health centers nationwide that provide truly comprehensive women’s healthcare, and they can be conveniently located at findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov.
